Nascar Fan

All my life I have been looking for the perfect sport in which I may want to follow and even enjoy it enough to collect things from the sport and even like to watch it on TV. That sport for me is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and it is NASCAR. I tried Baseball, to long and boring but better then golf. I tried Football, I just don’t have time to keep track of it, but it is more fun then Baseball. So I started watching NASCAR about two years ago and love it.
I think I became interested in auto racing because I am such a car nut. I have even at one point in my life wanted to become a race car driver but never had the means or the support for it. After having seen my first on TV race two years ago I knew it was the sport for me. It had high speeds, danger, and of course cars. It also has excitement, when it comes down to those last few laps the race really starts to heat up as drivers try to get to the finish line first, what a rush.
At first I didn’t really have a team that I was following I just watched and start to cheer for the first two lead drivers until one of them won the race. For about nine month now I have narrowed it down to two drivers and their teams #19 Jeremy Mayfield and #31 Jeff Burton (who kind of seems like the underdog). They are both great drivers who want to win. This year however it seems Jeremy has been doing a lot better then Jeff. However I think Jeremy will not win the title this year because he has gotten himself in tenth place and the top three have a far greater points lead. Maybe next year Jeff might have a better chance at the Nextel Cup.
I have really gotten into this sport I have started spending money to buy collectibles form each of the two drives that I support. Someday I even hope to go to a couple of the races and be there to really here the roar of the engines and to smell the hot rubber and exhaust from these powerful cars. GO NASCAR!

Control

Gas prices sucks these days, I know everyone has heard everything about how they hate the high gas prices.  Well there is a bigger problem than just dealing with high gas prices.  It is called government control.
Just sit down and think about this for a while, if you were a government of any country big or small rich or poor you would at some point want as much control as you could possibly get, because if you have control you can do whatever you want.  Well I believe that parts of our government are controlling United States citizen by the cost of gas and other thins.  The one government agency that comes to mind is the EPA.  The EPA makes it so hard for us to find and use so many of our God given natural resources in this country.  The EPA has made it so that the most powerful nation in the world depends on oil from terrorist nations.  How do they control us, well the rest of the government can not do much to stop the EPA, because of the vast support from many right wing people who have money that’s how.
Basically I feel as someone who does not have much money that I am being controlled in many ways by our government.  They do it slowly little by little they take away our freedoms.  As it concerns the cost of gas, they make so it is hard to leave the house other than to go to work.  I haven’t gone on a trip in two years because of the cost of gas, which is not the only reason.  The reason is that it makes everything else go up in price.  I know this for a fact I work in a Supermarket and I have seen the cost of goods go up ever since the cost of gas has been above two dollars.  One could say that this is just a choice that I haven’t gone anywhere.  True but when I looked at a trip I wanted to take by car that was only a day drive away and then looked at Hotels Food etc… I was well over $750 that is more than I can afford.  I have been controlled because I don’t make much money (I’m not poor)I can’t do the things I’d like to do. With this type of control the government can and will start telling curtain people what they can do
Some day down the road this type of control (not making a lot of money) will be more evident.  It will be only the rich who will be in control and they will say to the rest of us were we can go were we can work and what kind of cars we drive.  The rest of us will be paying for it.
We need to stand up to the government and parts of it like the EPA and say no more.  We should be able to support our own need for our own people in this great country and not depend on other (terrorist) countries to help us.  The government is taking advantage of those who are not rich.  Yet those of us who are not rich need to take it upon ourselves to make our lives better and to make a change both for ourselves and the rest of the country.
