Comment to a Bloggers Post

This was a comment I left on some else blog a few weeks ago.  This person basically said that the government of the United States had every right to see and know what every American is or has been doing.  He was I believe talking about the Bush wiretapping scandal and then went on from there.  Funny thing is this person never did comment back, which mean he most likely is rethinking what he has said! Because of the following!
I don’t have a problem with what President Bush has done, because these people had known ties with terrorist groups.  But wait just a minute where are you coming from with this.  Do you really want the Government to know every single thing you do?   This is the United States of America, the government or any other group has absolutely without a doubt no right to see what is going on in my home on my cell phone on my computer or anything else, weather or not I am a honest person.  However if they find through the proper processes i.e. courts, investigation etc that I am a bad person then they have the right to see what I am doing.
The fourth amendment is not outdate, but protect my god given right to live my life without being enslaved by a government.  Once a government has access to everything you do, you lose every Freedom you have.  That government will tell you were to work what to drive when to drive who to marry and were to live.  This is not freedom it is bondage and is unacceptable! We the people control the government not the other way around don’t ever forget that!

State Help

In my line of work I see many different people from different back grounds, different social levels, and different incomes. However there is a problem that I see every day. It is called welfare, food stamps. Now wait a minute before you freak out. I know that many people need it, however there are many people who are abusing this help, which I help pay for. There needs to be changes in the length of time. There also needs to be changes in the things that can be purchased. Also if you are single living on your own no matter the income level you do not get to receive these benefits. Welfare should be for those supporting a family and children. There are other programs and low income housing for single people, like myself.
I think the change in length needs to be 3 years than you are no longer aloud to renew or receive benefits. There are many programs to help people find jobs. As far as what can be purchased, no large meat purchases over $80, limited number of soda pop purchases, and no bottled water(refilled water ok). I have a hard time paying for these things and I make a good amount of money for one person. I know this sounds mean, but food stamps is not meant to give people the mean to live rich, but is there to give people the essentials needed to feed the family.
Now the cash part of this program needs changes too. Unless the cash is for child support, it is not needed. If it is for child support there needs to be a way that people are not aloud to take the cash out to purchase Alcohol and tobacco. You would be amazed and maybe even mad if you saw people take money from the state to purchase these things. I should not be paying for someone else bad habits.
Further information needs to be gathered from those who wish to get these benefits. The type of house they live in the cars they drive and perhaps the things they own. People should live within their incomes, if you can’t afford a 35,000 car than you don’t need one(even if the bank says you can). I myself have made this same choice, the bank said I could afford a 25,000 car but I chose to buy an 18,000 so not to over extend my income each month which is not always the same.
I guess my point is that people need to be self supportive if we rely on the government for everything we will start to lose our freedoms. This world is hard, people lives change but asking the government to take care of every problem we face is making a clear statement that we can not help ourselves that we are weak and lazy and don’t care about our freedoms. Be careful what you ask for you might just get it. I will be contacting my local representative with ideas about welfare reform and from my earlier post about the sale of alcohol.
